The Cistercian monks of the Stift Zwettl monastery brought the king of grapes to Langenlois from their ancient homeland, Burgundy. Super-creamy, deep, ripe raspberry nose. Warm cinnamon and white-pepper spices fill the mid palate, stippling the silk-spun curve of fruit and smooth bevelled tannic lines. Pinewood smokiness of lapsang souchong in a low register. A fine lattice of dried herbs.
